And keep an eye out for my second book, Shut the Front Door, releasing this Fall!

I always like to switch out decor between cold and warm seasons. Here are a few quick, easy and budget friendly ways to update your home for the summer:

In your living room, start by switching out a few throw pillows and coffee table books. Choose pillows with light and airy colors such as whites, ivories and light pinks. You can find an amazing selection of chic throw pillows on Amazon or at your local Homegoods store. In addition, you can replace your black coffee table books with ones that have white or light pink binding. Even just switching out the decor on your coffee table or the pillows on your couch can instantly update the space. Lastly, you can bring the outdoors in by adding an extra vase of pink or white flowers in your home.

In your bedroom, switch out a dark duvet with a lighter one. If you have dark throw pillows on your bed you can swap them out with lighter, more airy pillows. These types of colors will instantly brighten up your room and make it officially feel like summer! As an added decoration, you can even buy a cute tray to keep on your bed with a small vase of flowers and white magazines on top. Super chic and super cheap!

If you live in an apartment, the best place to store seasonal decor is under your bed. I like to keep all my extra decorations in plastic bins to avoid any dust or discoloration!
