Today, I wanted to discuss bedroom storage. As I’ve been writing the book, I started realizing how little information on small-space storage I have on the blog. Crazy right?!

Small bedroom? These organization tips will help keep you sane and keep your bedroom a calm oasis. #smallapartmentdecorating #smallapartmentideas #smallbedroomideas #bedroomideas #bedroomdecor

People will walk into my bedroom and the first thing they (usually) say is, “How do you keep it so clean??” My answer: Organizational hacks! Below, I’ll share a few go-to tips of mine that will work in any kind of space.

Use space behind curtains.

I know this sounds like a crazy one but hear me out. Small, thin items like decor, artwork and even bags can easily be stored behind curtains without anyone noticing! I store extra bags and seasonal decor behind the curtains in my bedroom.

Take advantage of space between furniture.

I use the small space between my bed and nightstand to store trays. In addition, I use the space between my dresser and wall to store some of my camera accessories.

Take advantage of space under furniture.

No, I’m not just talking about under your bed! Do you have anything stored under your dresser or nightstand? These are great areas to store smaller items that can’t fit into drawers. I keep extra air filters and chords stored under my dresser in plastic bins.

Invest in a label maker.

Labelling your containers, bins, and whatever else you store items in will save you tons of anxiety in the long run. It’s truly the best feeling in the world to immediately know where items are.

Add drawer dividers.

Drawer dividers are a great method for organizing clothes within your dresser. Drawer dividers allow you to easily store multiple types of clothing within one drawer.

Keep command hooks around.

If I could only choose one organizational item to keep in my home, it would have to be 3M Command Hooks. These things are SO versatile! Attach some to the side of your dresser for hair appliance storage or hang some within your cabinets for scarf storage. The possibilities are endless with command hooks!

Struggle to find small apartment decorating ideas? Hate the way your rental kitchen looks? These budget-friendly, temporary solutions will transform your rented space! #kitchenideas #kitchenideasonabudget #rentalhomedecorating #rentalapartmentdecorating #kitchenmakeover

Invest in furniture with storage built in.

Nowadays, there are endless amounts of furniture available that has storage built into it. I keep an ottoman in my bedroom that doubles as storage for my sheets and extra pillows.

Keep a miscellaneous basket around.

I know I’ve discussed this before but this is a great method for the bedroom. Keep a miscellaneous basket in your bedroom that you can throw clothes in when you’re too lazy to put them back. Once the items in the basket reach the top, that’s when you know it’s time to put everything back where it belongs!
